In the 19th Century this was the focus of the Northover Farm when it was known as the Northover Manor but by 1861 it ceased to be connected to Northover farm.

It became a private dwelling until 1922 when it became the home and surgery of Dr Sequeira until his retirement in 1942.  Dr Dovey then used the premises until moving to Church Street in 1956. 

The property was then bought and used as a private house in 1956 until it was turned into a hotel in 1967.

Since becoming a hotel it has had 6 previous owners before Mark Haddigan and Melanie Haddigan purchased the hotel in  1998.
